What we learnt from appearing on Shark Tank Australia, and thanks to everybody for their support!

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who tuned in last Sunday night to watch me present our company LEAPIN Digital Keys on Shark Tank Australia. It was a valuable experience on many levels and while there are a lot of things I would have done differently in hindsight, I’m totally humbled by all the well wishes of support, and blown away by all the interest - we've had over 80,000 views of videos on the Shark Tank Australia Facebook page about our pitch. And since the show went to air, we've been approached from a number of hotel groups and construction companies about our product.

In addition to trying to raise capital on Shark Tank, one of the other aims we had as a company by going on the show was to raise the profile and awareness of smartlocks.

We know that smartlocks can make our lives better, whether it be checking in to a hotel, or controlling access and security to your office or home. We wanted to share our passion we have for smartlocks with a larger audience. For example for hotels that adopt our technology, you won’t ever have to worry about being locked out of your room again by the keycard not working; you won’t have to worry about making complicated arrangements to pick up keys to access your room (especially in smaller establishments after hours), and you won’t have to worry about carrying around metal keys.

LEAPIN Digital Keys is proudly Australian-based, but is making waves in the biggest shark tanks in the world. Watch our short video presentation here at CeBIT in Germany last month, the world’s biggest IT expo, where we were the only Australian company selected to exhibit. At CeBIT we were approached by some of the biggest telecommunication and electronic companies in the world and even car manufacturers who are all interested in incorporating our smartlock technology into their products.

LEAPIN Digital Keys is all about a great product called ‘smartlocks’ based on genuinely innovative technology, developed right here in Australia by some of the best IT minds in the land.

The smartlock revolution is upon us and we’re thrilled to be a part of it all. The revolution is being led by three of the top ten hotel chains including Hilton Hotels, Accor Hotels, and Starwood Hotels who have all announced plans to roll-out digital keys smartlocks in all of their rooms by the end of next year– see more here.

Many of the electronic and telecommunication companies that approached us at CeBIT are also now starting to join this smartlock revolution developing smarthome and Internet of Things products to interface to smartlocks.

We learned a lot from our Shark Tank experience, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to appear on the show. While we didn't raise capital this time on Shark Tank, we are fortunate enough to have received grants from the Australian government to help progress the development of our product, and from graduating from an Australian and US accelerator program. We've received ongoing advice from some of the best mentors in our industries of lock manufacturing and IT. We've been invited to pitch at many international business plan competitions. We've spoken with many CEO’s and leaders of large established companies, and signed partnering agreements with manufacturers to take our product to market.

If you’re interested in joining our company, or investing, or just learning more about smartlocks, or placing an order for one of our smartlocks, then click here to join us, and sign up for the smartlock revolution!
Thanks again to everyone for their support.
